Yellow Jackets Breeze Past Malone

The Yellow Jacket men’s soccer team defeated Malone University 4-0 in the second outing of the 2013 season on Saturday, Sept.7.

Cedarville was in control and dominated possession throughout the game. They scored quickly when Timmy Waller, a senior forward for the Yellow Jackets, put the ball in the net just 11 minutes in. The scoring slowed down until the second half when Malone helped out Cedarville by kicking it into their own net.

After Malone’s devastating mistake, Cedarville scored two more goals to put the game away. In the 57th minute Zach Harris, a sophomore midfielder, scored with a well-placed header. Later, Eric Hoober, a senior defensemen and captain, scored his first career goal at Cedarville University.

Cedarville’s win also marked the first win for Coach Brett Faro. He was given a game ball following the contest.

Cedarville soccer fans will be able to see their men’s team take on Walsh University on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.
