Student Spotlight – Joseph Vadala: Band Leader
Joseph Vadala, leader of the band Highland, turns life’s discord into rock music.
When his long-distance girlfriend blindsided him with a break-up, he wept and watched “Everybody Loves Raymond.” He stayed in his room. He didn’t eat or drink for 50 hours.
Finally, he went to his keyboard, and within 30 minutes he had written a song called “Won’t Be Tonight.”
“The verses are very much my tears on paper,” said Vadala, a senior and computer science major.

ReKindle Worship Band Aims to Revitalize Worship
ReKindle is an all-girl worship band made up of nine Cedarville students that aims to revitalize worship while ministering to others.
Band members said ReKindle was founded on 2 Timothy 1:6-7: “For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” (NASB)
