The cardboard canoe race to cross Cedar Lake is an annual homecoming tradition at Cedarville. This year’s race took place Oct. 2 despite cool and wet temperatures.
Students take part in the annual cardboard canoe race to cross Cedar Lake, sponsored by Cedarville’s engineering department. Freshmen engineering students make up the majority of the teams, though other academic departments are often also represented.

Team 30 won the race with the fastest time of 1 minute 38 seconds to cross the lake in the Oct. 2 canoe race. Team 18 took second place, with a time of 2 minutes 3 seconds.
Team 14 takes first place in the demolition derby Oct. 2.
Cedarville University held its 2015 Homecoming parade 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Despite the rain and cold temperatures, the parade was well-attended. Alumni, parents and grandparents traveled to the ’Ville for Homecoming and Parents & Grandparents Weekend Oct. 2-3.
