The Lady Jackets (22-11) remain perfect at home after the pitching efforts of Cecelia DeBartolo and Courtnie Spain shutout the Lake Erie College Storm (5-22) in Tuesday’s doubleheader.

DeBartolo (7-4) pitched the first game of the doubleheader, allowing only one hit on the 16 batters she faced. DeBartolo and her defense faced three batters in each of the first four innings. Meanwhile, Cedarville’s hitting was consistent, racking up eight runs in five innings to close the game on the mercy rule.

After a rough weekend at bat, freshman Rachel Bull went 3-for-4 at the plate, collecting two RBIs and crossing home plate all three times she made it to base. Kelsey Wilson and Jessica Palm each brought in two runners. Kenleigh Ludlow was a perfect 3-for-3, and Courtney Teague was 2-for-3, scoring both times she made it to base.

In the second game, Spain (9-4) faced 36 batters, allowed 10 hits and struck out six. The Lady Jackets’ offense was slower in this game, but it got the job done, making four runs on seven hits on the 26 turns at bat. Shelby Young, Kelsey Warrington, Missy Murphy, Bull, Ludlow and Palm each went 1-for-3.
