Jordan Reese, a freshman from Cedarville, didn’t waste any time making his presence felt for the Yellow Jackets golf team. Reese shot a 2-under 70 on the final day of the tournament. His score helped the Yellow Jackets finish second at their home tournament held in Beavercreek Sept. 9 and 10.
Senior Jacob Nafziger finished tied for third place. Nafziger was impressed with his team’s performance and thought they had a great outing.
“We played really well as a team,” Nafziger said. “We meshed this fall and had a great tournament.”
Nafziger said he was expecting this type of performance because of how close the team has become.
“We love to joke around as a team and are really laid back,” he said, “But we also know when to be serious and play great golf.”
Freshman Taylor Holt finished 16th in his first home outing; junior Jacob Forsythe had a great second day to finish tied for 21st. Sophomore Derek Truninger finished 14th, and sophomore Jordan Glick finished 33rd.
The Yellow Jackets are on the road for the rest of the season, culminating in the NCCAA Championships on October 23in Panama City Beach, Fla.
