Cedars Basketball Awards
Here is the list of seven awards given by the Cedars sports staff to honor the most significant players on Cedarville’s men’s and women’s basketball teams. Each award is given to the most deserving player, with one award handed out. Players from both the men’s and women’s rosters were selected as finalists, with one winner for each award, other than the All-Cedarville First Team.

Fuyao Glass America: Oscar-winning “American Factory” Depicts Working-class Struggle and Cultural Clash in Dayton

This year “American Factory” won the Oscar for Best Documentary. Its subject? A Chinese-owned glass manufacturing company which opened in Cedarville’s backyard.
“American Factory,” headed by filmmakers Steven Bognar, Julia Reichert and Jeff Reichert, was the first film produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Productions.

Guatemala Medical Missions Team Sees Positive Changes Through Return Trips

During spring break in 2019, Cedarville University’s Global Outreach program sent a team of students on an annual medical mission trip to Guatemala where they set up a clinic. There, the team met a baby girl, Amberly, and her young mother.
Amberly became sick, and her mother took her to the clinic. Amberly grew worse and had a heart attack. There was not much the clinic could do except perform CPR. Amberly’s life was saved that day.

The Cedarville University divisions of Enrollment Management and Marketing and Communications rolled out virtual campus visits last week in light of the unprecedented changes amid the novel coronavirus outbreak. With Cedarville completely shifting learning to online and a focus on reduced travel and contact with others, these tours are a way for students to get a feel for campus while staying safe at home.
