The Lady Jackets swept Wednesday afternoon’s game against Oakland City 4-0 in the NCCAA Midwest Region Semi Final Game. The win puts Cedarville’s record at 15-6 and into the NCCAA Midwest Region Finals.
The Lady Jackets played strong, scoring two goals in the first half. The first goal was scored 19 minutes into the game by Junior Kristie Wolff, assisted by Freshman Grace Miorelli and Senior Ashlee Wilson. 4 minutes later Wilson assisted Sophomore Jacoby Ziegler to score the second goal of the game. The first half finished with the Jackets leading 2-0.
The Lady Jackets played a powerful second half, only allowing the ball on their side for a little over 15 minutes of the 45 minute half. The third goal of the game came 10 minutes into the second half by Ziegler with an assist by Wolff. The goal gives Ziegler her 20th goal of the season, one goal behind the 2004 record holder Jane Adams. The game was sealed by sophomore defender Carly Gregory with 36 seconds left in the game.
Cedarville advances to Indiana for the NCCAA Midwest Region Finals at Grace College on Saturday, Nov. 16. The winner of Saturday’s competition will move onto the NCCAA National Championships, in Kissimmee Florida.
