The Lady Jackets women’s soccer team took to rewriting the record books Tuesday night against conference opponent Salem International, winning in dominant fashion, 12-0. Cedarville had an advantage from the start, as the Tigers only had eight players in uniform.
Grace Miorelli had her second hat trick of the season with three goals and tied a team record with three assists. Elise Hurley also had a hat trick and added two assists. Both Kristie Wolff and Kaitlyn Stiles scored two goals, and Carla Halvorson and Melissa Ruhlman added one each. The offensive spectacle tied the team record for goals in a game and margin of victory set twice previously in 12-0 wins. Hanna Harris needed only three saves to record her fourth consecutive shutout, also a team record.
Cedarville pounced early with four goals in the first sixteen minutes of action. They led 8-0 at halftime. The lead was extended to 12-0 before the game was called after the 70th minute due to weather and field conditions.
Cedarville (8-4-1 (3-3-1 G-MAC)) hosts conference leader Ursuline on Saturday at 4:00 in the final home contest of the season.
