The freshman class council joins for the first time on the Stinger’s stage at Saturday night’s New Student Variety Show. The show is one of multiple events designed to encourage new students to get engaged in the community at CU.
Senior Kenton Durham serves as the night’s MC, sporting the infamous glitter jacket and a grin.
Hannah Ramsey, freshman worship major, starts off the show with a powerful voice and a ukulele.
Elizabeth McAlester and Emilie Schulz deviate from the norm with their touching self-composed piece.
The judges of the show consisted of members from the sophomore, junior and senior class councils.
Freshman duo Micah Freire and Cole Tague pull on some heartstrings with performances by NEEDTOBREATHE and Ed Sheeran.
Joy Matthews’s vocal performance landed her a spot in the first round of finalists.
Matthew Allen wins the crowd in both rounds with an energetic fiddle performance. Allen was the only fiddler to compete.
