Lady Jackets Victorious on Senior Night

The Cedarville Lady Jackets defeated the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots 63-41 on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. Cedarville held the Fighting Scots to a 29 percent field goal percentage during the game.
Cedarville’s Regina Hochstetler was the game’s leading scorer with 18 points on 7-16 shooting. Baylee Bennett added 14 points and shot 4-7 from behind the 3-point line.
Head coach Kari Hoffman said the team’s good defense and hustle helped the team come out on top.

Trump Ban Harms Missions, Creates Uncertainty for Students
The Trump administration is rewriting the executive ban on immigration which was suspended by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The ban indirectly affects international missions, and one Cedarville student will not be returning home for the foreseeable future.
Because of the uncertainty created by the ban, Eman Nagib, a junior information technology major from Sudan plans to remain in the United States.

Cedarville Comes Up Short Against Kentucky State

The Cedarville Yellow Jackets lost 89-84 to Kentucky State Thursday night. Head Coach Pat Estepp was not happy with the way his team performed.
“We took a giant step backwards tonight,” Estepp said.
Estepp said his team’s defensive deficiencies were the reason for the loss.
“Our defensive intensity was terrible in the first half,” Estepp said. “I didn’t think we defended with any heart. Unfortunately for us, the second half was even worse.”

The Lady Jackets cruised to a 108-62 lead over Salem International on Thursday night. Cedarville (17-10, 8-5 G-MAC) had a season high in points, a season-high in assists with 30, and also hit 12 3-pointers.
Regina Hochstetler lead the way in points with 24. She also had five rebounds and six assists. Baylee Bennett had 18 points and eight assists. Emily Williams added 16 points and 11 rebounds.
