Tax Levy Renewal Seeks to Continue to Address Lack of State Funding

On November 7, residents of Cedarville will have the opportunity to vote on a measure to renew a tax levy for workers in the village. Two years ago, the village council proposed a temporary .25 percent increase on Cedarville’s municipal individual income tax, taking the rate from 1 percent to 1.25 percent. That tax levy is due to expire and is up for renewal.

The Gridiron Classic

Two dorms meet under the lights to determine which has the superior flag football athletes on Nov. 3. Lawlor Hall and the Hill square off for four 12-minute quarters of full-contact, smashmouth flag football as each attempt to dominate in the name of Jesus.
The event known as the Gridiron Classic kicks off with Printy and Maddox facing in their own flag football game at 6 p.m. at the Cedarville High School football field. Lawlor and the Hill kicks off thereafter.

ALT II: Pumpkin, Everywhere
CU hosted its second ALT Night last Friday night, October 27. It featured a variety of activities, including caricatures, laser tag, and pumpkin carving. The movie shown was the 2000 football film, "Remember The Titans", and student leaders passed out pumpkin doughnut holes from Bill's Donuts to be enjoyed during the film and festivities. Rinnova also offered a specialty drink called the "Titan".

Lady Jackets Disappoint Against Hillsdale

The Cedarville Lady Jackets (15-12, 10-3 G-MAC) dropped a pivotal G-MAC showdown against the Hillsdale Chargers (21-3, 11-2 G-MAC) on Friday night in four sets. The loss was a setback for Cedarville, as they dropped a full game behind Hillsdale to third place in the conference.
Hillsdale fought to win 25-15, 24-26, 25-21 and 25-18 in the match.

Cedarville’s Mike DeWine Runs for Governor

Cedarville resident Mike DeWine is running for Ohio governor in the upcoming election on Nov. 6. The 70 year-old Republican is currently Ohio’s Attorney General and has strong connections to the Yellow Jackets.
DeWine has participated in Cedarville University’s Faith conference, taught at the university, and employed students as interns.

CU wins local Ranger Challenge, heads to Fort Knox for Nationals

The Army is all about pushing one’s limits, and on Saturday, Oct. 21, Cedarville’s cadets had the opportunity to do so as they competed in the Ranger Challenge at Central State University.
Cedarville came out on top, winning in all but one of the challenges against Wright State and the University of Dayton.
Due to their success, the team will go on to compete in Fort Knox, Kentucky on Nov. 3 to Nov. 5 against 18 other top schools.

Cedarville Sweeps Regional Foe Indy at Home

The Cedarville Lady Jackets (15-11, 10-2 G-MAC) returned to home to sweep the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds on Tuesday night. Cedarville kept pace with G-MAC leading Findlay (11-1 G-MAC) and Hillsdale (10-2 G-MAC).
The Lady Jackets took the match in commanding fashion, winning 25-21, 25-18 and 25-23.

Global writer and speaker Sam Allberry will return to Cedarville this year as a visiting professor. Allberry pastors a church in Maidenhead, UK; speaks for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries; writes for The Gospel Coalition; and is the founding editor of Living Out, a ministry to those affected by same-sex attraction.
