The No. 4 Cedarville Lady Jackets (9-3) took a five-set thriller (25-15, 23-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-13) over No. 5 Ohio Dominican University (7-5) to advance to the semifinals of the G-MAC tournament. Though Cedarville started out the dominant team, the Panthers put up an intense fight and forced them to five sets, the fifth set ending with just a two-point victory for the Jackets. This was the two team’s second meeting this season, the first ending in the Jackets’ favor as well, 3-1.
Cedarville was led once again by senior Liene Miller with 21 kills. Senior Lauren Willow contributed 14 and freshman Lyssi Snouffer contributed 13. Snouffer also contributed a massive 28 digs while sophomore Mallory Delamarter added 16.
The semifinals will take place this Friday, March 12 where they will travel to Hillsdale to take on the No. 1 seed. The Jackets took on Hillsdale just last week and battled hard but fell 3-1. They will look to take that momentum and keep their season rolling into the G-MAC championship which is scheduled for this Saturday.
