Beavercreek’s Coffee Hub Fills the Coffee-Shaped Hole in My Heart

By Ashleigh Clark

I like coffee shops. No matter where they are, what they look like, or what coffee they serve, all coffee shops have this special place in my heart. Coffee shops present an alternative in a world where teens and young adults are losing real-life hangout spaces. The cozy atmosphere of a local coffee shop makes them great places to bring friends.

I’ve been exploring cafés outside of Cedarville and my search brought me to Coffee Hub in Beavercreek. Some may know the name because of their store in downtown Xenia. They also have stores in Waynesville, Dayton Metro Library, and Centerville. They’ve been serving coffee since 2017 under the motto “Coffee with Purpose.” According to their website, Coffee Hub is affiliated with Hope Hub, an organization that helps women recovering from addiction.

From the outside, Coffee Hub looked small, so I was worried my fiancé and I would feel cramped inside. However, the seating area was spacious with plenty of seating options (couches and tables). We immediately noticed the decor. The artwork on the wall was eclectic and some of the tables were shaped like coffee cups. I thought the cup tables were a unique touch.

As we waited in line to order, we were impressed by the menu prices. One thing that every coffee drinker can relate to is the price of coffee in cafés. These days, a five dollar drink is an unfortunate reality for coffee lovers like me. That’s why I was surprised when I saw that Coffee Hub’s prices were cheaper than most coffee shops I’ve been to.

The menu was easy to read and included a guide to explain different kinds of “coffee plus milk” drinks. Separating each section of the menu in its own picture frame helped us easily navigate the options.

Along with coffee, Coffee Hub has hot and cold tea options, pastries, and breakfast food. Most of the food options were gluten-free and vegan-friendly.

Coffee Hub’s eclectic menu layout made the options easy to read.

Coffee Hub’s commitment to providing allergy-friendly food is probably the best thing about the shop. Coffee Hub Beavercreek partners with a bakery next door that provides their gluten-free and vegan pastries. They also offer alternative milk options for their dairy-free and vegan customers.

I got an iced chai latte and my fiancé got cold brew with cinnamon and honey. We also got a gluten-free quiche. Both the food and the drinks tasted great. My chai latte was a perfect mix of sweet and spice. My fiancé’s cold brew tasted great as well. He’s a big fan of honey, so he was glad they had it as an option on the menu. The cheesy potato quiche was delicious and the gluten-free crust was shockingly not dry.

Overall, my fiancé and I enjoyed our trip to Coffee Hub, Beavercreek. This coffee shop would be a great place to go for breakfast or an evening pick-me-up after school. If you have dietary restrictions or are just looking for a new coffee shop, I highly recommend visiting Coffee Hub in Beavercreek.
