Jack and Montgomery are two roommates who are bullied incessantly by the college football team. The pair of friends are the typical “loser” types you would find in a high school movie, only this is college.
Jack is blamed for the entire football team’s demise. As a result, nearly everyone at school makes his college life harder. By association, Montgomery is tormented as well. Still, the two stick by each other. The reason why is kept a secret from the audience for much of the movie,
and it is eventually revealed to be an insane but valid reason.

After a particularly bad encounter, the boys find a fake box of mints in their dorm room that happen to be drugs. Jack is at the end of his rope and just wants to feel good again. So, Jack convinces Montgomery to take the fake mints after looking up an informational video about them
online. The video says that the drug will make them feel like they’re floating on clouds, only the boys did not watch the whole video. As it turns out, the drug needs to be taken with food, specifically with pizza. Otherwise, those who take it will go through six phases of high which are described throughout the movie and shown with lovely graphics.

Through all the craziness, Jack and Montgomery are able to create an even more solid friendship and realize some of their shortcomings in their relationship. Additionally, they regain a friend, Lizzy, who had left them high and dry after Jack’s incident with the football team. Lizzy
also accidentally takes a mint and goes on this epic journey with the boys.
So, the quest begins for pizza. The only problem: the RAs are on the hunt for anyone who may have illegal substances on the hall. The threat: if they’re found with substances, they’ll be forced to move to Gralk Hall— the oldest, trashiest and furthest dorm from campus.
The famous YouTube, Tik Tok and Instagram channel, American High, created this modge podge of lunacy. And what a strange movie it is.
I like that “Pizza Movie” decided to do something different. Much like the videos they post online, American High made this story incredibly funny and in every way out of pocket. These days, everything is a remake or a franchise, no new or unique ideas. I appreciate that “Pizza
Movie” was completely random and something audiences could just laugh at. The movie was by far a change of pace and quite a trip.

Members of the American High channel made cameo-like appearances throughout the movie. This touch reminded me that this movie is their child and their chance to be creative and crazy. I have been following their content for a long time and witnessed their projects come to life. I’m happy they got the opportunity to make this movie and I hope they get the chance again soon. They also did a great job with casting. Both boys fit the role perfectly and I am impressed they were able to get some experienced actors on a small project like this.

The cursing and language in this movie is overdone. When cursing is in nearly every line of dialogue, I don’t see the point. Frankly, it’s not all that necessary and could have been toned down in my opinion.
The movie felt very high school even though it was set in college. As a college student, I am not sure who would care that much to bully someone as furiously as these kids are to Jack. But it’s a movie and, for this one especially, all logic is out the window.
Serious moments have never met this movie. What a premise, I must say.
While my expectations were low, I still cannot completely love this movie. It’s not the best thing ever by any means, but it definitely works as a nonsense watch. I think it would be a great movie to watch with a big group of friends, if they can take a joke.
“Pizza Movie” is now streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
