The Cedarville Lady Yellow Jackets hit the fairways one last time on Tuesday, October 7, to conclude the 2025 golf regular season. The William Beall Fall Classic marked the end of Cedarville University’s first-ever women’s golf fall season in school history.
The tournament took place on October 6 and 7 at Findlay Country Club, a par 72 course. The Lady Jackets finished with 345 in the first round, 344 in the second round and 342 in the third, leaving the tournament with a total score of 1031. These scores left the Jackets with a fifteenth-place finish out of 16 teams.
The Lady Jackets went into the William Beall Fall Classic with record scores from the week prior. On September 29 and 30, the team placed fourth at the Battle at Stonehenge tournament in Winona Lake, Indiana. The Jackets ended the tournament scoring 333 for both rounds, a team low for the fall season.
“One of the things we have really talked about through our first couple of tournaments is that we get to set a school record every time that we get out here,” said Rich Ritter, the head coach of the women’s and men’s golf teams. “If we’re just better than what we have done so far, we’re actually setting a school record.”
A team low was not the only school record that took place at the Battle at Stonehenge tournament. Graduate student Liz Miller set a school record with a two-over-par round of 73 at the par 71 Stonehenge Golf Club. This finish awarded Miller the individual lead out of 60 players for the first round, finishing the tournament in sixth place overall.
Miller continued to lead the team in scoring at the William Beall Fall Classic, where she scored 81-83-88 for a total score of 252. Teammate Mallory Masterson followed closely behind in the tournament with scores of 87-87-83 for a 257.
Though the William Beall Fall Classic was the last tournament of the fall season, the Lady Jackets are not done yet. Liz Miller qualified as an individual and will be competing at the NCCAA National Championship. The Championship will take place October 20-22 at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida.
The success of the Lady Jackets’ first golf season will undoubtedly drive Miller as she finishes out the fall season at the National Championship.
