The Cedarville University men’s soccer team won its 11th game of the season on Thursday night 2-0 against opponent Trevecca Nazarene. With game temperatures starting at 40 degrees, it was Cedarville’s coldest game of the season.
Scoring was slow, and it did not come easy against Trevecca Nazarene. Both goals were scored by sophomore Connor Gilmour in the second half of the game. Cedarville and Trevecca Nazarene played staunch defense during the first half of the contest. It took a while for the offenses to warm up.
Connor Gilmour scored both his goals within 50 seconds of each other in the 60th minute of the contest. His first goal bounced off the post and into the net, sneaking by the goalie. His second goal showed off his athleticism as he blew by the defense, sealing Cedarville’s victory.
Cedarville has only two games left until the NCCAA national tournament starts in November. Their final home game is on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. against Kentucky Wesleyan. Cedarville will look to better their record to 12-2-3.
