Cedarville’s women’s volleyball team had little trouble with the Ursuline Arrows Tuesday night, sweeping the visiting team 25-15, 25-15, 25-17, to increase their winning streak to eight matches.
In the first set, the closest the Arrows got to the Jackets was when they tied up the match 8-8. The Jackets ran away with the remainder of the set, winning 25-15.
The second set was much like the first, Cedarville taking the win 25-15. For each play by Ursuline, the Lady Jackets responded positively, often with a spike from junior Abby Shelton that would bounce off of one of the Arrow’s players and fly into the crowd.
Cedarville also won the third and final set against Ursuline, 25-17.
Shelton and sophomore Krissy Pratt combined for 26 kills, which tied Ursuline’s number for the whole team. Junior Kristin Cardwell out-assisted the Arrows by herself, with 31 assists compared to Ursuline’s 23.
The Lady Jackets partnered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in their Oct. 6 match to raise awareness and money for children’s diabetes.
The Lady Jackets (10-8) will look to increase their eight-match win streak as they travel to Central State Tuesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. The team plays again Nov. 3, taking on Indiana East.
