Sophomore forward Kollin Van Horn only scored two points in the Cedarville Yellow Jackets’ 97-76 thrashing of Ohio Valley on Saturday afternoon. But those two points were likely the most impressive of his career.
With 17:47 left in the second half, Van Horn etched his name in Cedarville history with one of the greatest dunks in program history. Although the 6-8 big man isn’t know as a high-flyer, Van Horn took some aggression out on the hoop, disregarding a Fighting Scot defender’s presence to hammer a slam through the cup.
After the game, Van Horn was humble in his response to the dunk. Even after being pressed, he just said the jam “felt good” and that he was happy the Yellow Jackets came out with the win.
The dunk sparked a second half that saw Cedarville score 50 points and shoot 51.5% from the field. Cedarville (11-8, 7-3 G-MAC) will play its next four games in the friendly confines of the Callan Athletic Center, with the next one coming Thursday evening against Trevecca.
