‘Ahsoka’ brings back mystical ‘Star Wars’ in an exciting first half

By Ben Konuch “Anakin never got to finish my training. Before the end of the Clone Wars, I walked away from him - and the Jedi. Just like I walked away from Sabine.” When conversations around “Star Wars” spring up in my friend group, I’m usually the guy people look at. I’ve loved “Star Wars” since I was a child and I have my older brother to thank for that. Growing up in the Philippines away from libraries or video stores, we would have to buy a season of the animated ...

‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’ is a hilarious family reunion

By Anna Harman I was so excited when I first saw the trailer for this movie that I put the release date on my calendar immediately. I loved the first two “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” movies, so I knew I had to see this.  It was so cool to see a lot of the original characters come back in this movie, especially Toula (Nia Vardalo), Ian (John Corbett) and Aunt Voula (Andrea Martin). However, we found out right at the start of the movie that Toula’s mom Maria (Lainie Kazan) was ...

By Ben Konuch Summer blockbuster season is always too overwhelming to try to fit every major release into your schedule. Whether it be all the new streaming series, or the brand new franchises being started in cinemas or even iconic names returning on the big screen like “Indiana Jones,” this summer blockbuster season has been no exception. But when you can’t watch every new release, you have to pick the ones that look most intriguing. For me, those movies were “Mission Impossible: ...

Summer Film Recap: Esther Fultz’s summer of armageddon and glitter

By Esther Fultz I’ve never been a big film person. Sure, I’ll watch the occasional film with my family, and I’ve seen “The Sound of Music” and “The Lord of the Rings” more times than I can count. But seeing films in the theater isn’t a common occurrence for me, and before this summer, I never would’ve seen myself watching two films back to back. “Barbenheimer” changed that. “Oppenheimer” presents a complex portrait of humanity. Contrary to popular recommend...

CU at the Patio launches as a new way for students to take a study break

By Maggie Fipps  One of the seminal moments for freshmen Cedarville students is the class picture. Crowded together, usually separated from your friends and standing next to that random kid from your Sting group, you squint into the sunlight as Dr. White directs you to smile at the camera.  As enrollment swelled, Cedarville extended not only the backdrop of the iconic class picture but also the backdrop for building community as they extended the lakeside patio onto Cedar Lake, ...
