Almost every student at Cedarville University recognizes junior track star Carsyn Koch as a record-breaking athlete who went to the United States Olympic Trials this summer.

Suspect arrested for NY and NJ Bombings
Ahmad Khan Rahami was taken into custody on Sept. 19th after exchanging gunfire with police and was charged on Sept. 20 for the bombings in New York and New Jersey that occurred on Sept. 17. He has been charged with five counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, as well as two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Preparing for Reaccreditation a Huge Task
With the school’s 10-year accreditation status coming to a close this year, Cedarville faculty and staff are working together to prepare for re-accreditation.
This semester, on Oct. 10 and 11, reviewers will arrive on campus from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the nationally recognized major regional accreditor for Cedarville and other schools in the area, including Ohio State University.

Cedarville University is partnering with Answers in Genesis (AIG) on Sept. 15-16, 2016 to present a conference highlighting the importance of a biblical worldview concerning creation.
CU President Thomas White said both groups hope the Creation Conference will show their shared commitment to the authority of scripture, particularly in regards to man and the origin of the universe.

Meet Jennifer Taggart, Cedars’ new editor-in-chief
Jennifer Taggart is a senior journalism major from northern Ohio. She first came to Cedarville as a high school student for a summer journalism camp. The past three years, she has worked as a reporter and section editor for Cedars. Watch this video for her personal story. Anna Dembowski won second place in the Best College Feature Writing category at the Ohio’s Best Journalism Contest, sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists. Her winning article Safe Spaces and Speech: A Wordless Battle was published in the December 2015 issue of Cedars.
Dembowski, former Cedars editor-in-chief and 2016 Cedarville journalism graduate, is now a reporter at the Community Impact Newspaper in Texas.
