After a long fall of training, the Cedarville Track and Field team got its first taste of competition at the Wittenberg Opener in Springfield, Ohio. Arts in Action: Wind Symphony blows away audience with concert lineups

The Wind Symphony, also called band, is a large group of woodwind instruments along with brass and percussion instruments, omitting stringed instruments generally. The winds are positioned in the front with the brass in the middle and the percussion the farthest from the conductor.

The final game stood before the Jackets as fans packed out the gymnasium. The back-and-forth match sent everyone’s hearts pounding into their throats. The well-fought battle went to five sets, with Ohio Dominican coming out on top 15-10 in the final set to bring them the GMAC title.

Nine new faces joined the ranks of the Jackets as the men’s basketball season tipped off with their home opener against Wright State Lake. Returners and newbies played side-by-side, destroying the Lakers 101-53, showcasing the Jackets' potential to the anticipatory fans.

Cedarville came out ready, being the No. 1 seed in the G-MAC conference, but so did Northwood, the No. 8 seed. Both teams fought tooth and nail, keeping the audience on their toes, wondering who would come out on top. In a riveting four-set game, Cedarville grasped the win by a hair and advanced to the semifinal game.
“From the very beginning, we knew [Northwood was] going to be a tough serving team, and they never gave up,” head Coach Greg Smith said.
