In summer 2008, Cedarville commenced discussions to leave the NAIA for NCAA Division II. This idea carried plenty ofprayer and discussions, as Cedarville knew a long road was ahead, said Alan Geist, Cedarville’s athletic director.
The next five years was an extensive and laborious process, Geist said, but that put Cedarville in the position it is in today – as an active member of NCAA Division II and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, or G-MAC.

Faro Named Head Coach
Brett Faro has recently been named the men’s head soccer coach.
He was the interim head coach for the soccer team since July and has led the team to a 12-3-3 record in his first season. He has been an assistant coach with the Yellow Jackets for the past two seasons. Faro said he is excited for the future of the Yellow Jackets.

The Cedarville Men’s Cross Country team won the G-MAC Championships for the second year in a row on their home course this past Saturday, Oct. 26. Cedarville won the first five spots, gaining a perfect score of 15 points to create a large gap between the Jackets and the second-place finisher, Trevecca Nazarene (55 points) and third-place Davis and Elkins (81 points).

Lady Jackets Repeat as G-MAC Champions
The Lady Jackets won the G-MAC championships on their home course for the second year in a row Oct. 26. They won the meet with 41 points, narrowly beating Trevecca Nazarene, the runner-up with 47 points. Ursuline took third with 72 points.
