Young Players Could Help Cedarville Men’s Soccer

A new school year brings a new season for the Cedarville men’s soccer team. This year the team brings more maturity and experience to the table as they plan to win the G-MAC this year and improve on their 12-8-3 record from last year.
“We had a lot of young guys play a lot of minutes last year,” head coach Brett Faro said. “Now we have these guys back that are stronger and more experienced than last year.”

Lady Jackets Win Season Opener 4-0

Cedarville University’s women’s soccer team defeated Saginaw Valley State in their home opener Thursday night 4-0 in an out of conference game. Junior Alyssa Maillefer led the way scoring two goals less than two minutes apart.
Cedarville head coach Jonathan Meade said the girls’ team came out to execute what they had trained for in this game.
“They came ready to play and they took care of business and I’m really proud of them for that,” Meade said.

Womens Rugby Org Shows Major Growth

The Cedarville women’s rugby team is a new org on campus, and it might look a lot different than you would expect.

Striving For Perfection

Cedarville Lady Jackets head softball coach Wes Rowe said his 2017 team is the best he has had in his 10-year tenure at Cedarville.
The 2016 season ended just as it did in 2015 with a second-place finish in the G-MAC. The team concluded 2016 with a 28-31 record, including a 16-12 record in the G-MAC.
Coach Rowe said his team underachieved in 2016, but that the players improved as the year went on.

Seniors Lead Cedarville Over Ohio Valley

The Cedarville Yellow Jackets defeated the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots Saturday night 99-71 on senior night. All three Cedarville seniors played great games.
J.C. Faubion lead the team in scoring with 27 points and grabbed six rebounds. Justice Montgomery scored 14 points and added six assists. Easton Bazzoli scored 10 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and dished out eight assists.

Lady Jackets Victorious on Senior Night

The Cedarville Lady Jackets defeated the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots 63-41 on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. Cedarville held the Fighting Scots to a 29 percent field goal percentage during the game.
Cedarville’s Regina Hochstetler was the game’s leading scorer with 18 points on 7-16 shooting. Baylee Bennett added 14 points and shot 4-7 from behind the 3-point line.
Head coach Kari Hoffman said the team’s good defense and hustle helped the team come out on top.

Cedarville Comes Up Short Against Kentucky State

The Cedarville Yellow Jackets lost 89-84 to Kentucky State Thursday night. Head Coach Pat Estepp was not happy with the way his team performed.
“We took a giant step backwards tonight,” Estepp said.
Estepp said his team’s defensive deficiencies were the reason for the loss.
“Our defensive intensity was terrible in the first half,” Estepp said. “I didn’t think we defended with any heart. Unfortunately for us, the second half was even worse.”
