Cedarville’s women’s soccer team defended took advantage of home field tonight, defeating the Ashland Eagles 2-1 for their third win of the season.  The Eagles, ranked seventh in the Regional Coach’s Poll, were unbeaten in three matches heading into tonight’s game. In their home opener, the Cedarville women’s soccer team were shut out 3-0, by the Ohio Dominican University Panthers. Ohio Dominican struck quickly in the first half with a breakaway goal in the fourth minute. Cedarville had plenty of opportunities but couldn’t quite capitalize. The Cedarville volleyball team opened their home slate of matches with a 4-set victory over the Ohio Dominican University Panthers on Tuesday night in front of a raucous crowd full of students in the Callan Athletic Center. The Cedarville University men’s soccer team opened the 2014 season Thursday night, defeating Saint Joseph’s 4-0. The Yellow Jackets wasted no time igniting their offense. Junior midfielder Zachary Harris headed in a cross from senior forward Connor Scott in the fourth minute. The Lady Jackets will welcome seven freshmen to the basketball team this fall. Taylor Buckley, one of the seven recruits, was named the Gatorade Rhode Island Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year in March for the second time.
