The Cedarville Yellow Jackets capped off a historic 2021-2022 season with an impressive postseason run that ended only after Cedarville fell to rival Hillsdale in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Entering the year, the Jackets, who returned with a fully reloaded roster from last year, were picked fifth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

The 2021-2022 season came to a close Friday afternoon for No. 6 seeded Cedarville men’s basketball with a 68-61 loss to No. 3 Hillsdale in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament.
The Midwest regional matchup featured two conference rivals who were meeting for the fourth time this season, with the Jackets emerging victorious in the most recent contest 68-66 to stun the Chargers in the G-MAC conference tournament last Friday night.

Yellow Jackets Come Up Short in G-MAC Championship

No. 6 seed Cedarville fell just short of a G-MAC conference championship for the second consecutive year on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 76-62 result to No. 1 Walsh.
Branden Maughmer and Kollin Van Horn each scored 12 points in the contest for the Yellow Jackets and Quinton Green chipped in 10. The Jackets’ offense was stagnant in the game and Cedarville was unable to contain the Cavaliers’ offense, which shot nearly 60 percent overall from the field.

No. 6 seed Cedarville battled to an impressive 70-55 win over No. 3 Ashland in a first-round G-MAC tournament matchup.
The victory also marks head coach Pat Estepp’s 250th career win.

In the second and final game Cedarville men’s basketball played in the Sunshine State, the Yellow Jackets came away with a solid 82-73 win over Florida Southern. With the victory, the Jackets improved their regular season record to 7-4.

With the loss, Cedarville drops to 5-4 overall with a 3-1 record in G-MAC play.
