Freshman Molecular Biology student Abbi Shepherd’s dad is Dr. Mike Shepherd, a Bible professor who teaches Masters of Divinity classes.
The Shepherds moved to Cedarville in 2015, and they live across the street from the university. Shepherd said, “I like to tell people my house is closer to the BTS than Parker and Bates are.”

The 2021-2022 season came to a close Friday afternoon for No. 6 seeded Cedarville men’s basketball with a 68-61 loss to No. 3 Hillsdale in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament.
The Midwest regional matchup featured two conference rivals who were meeting for the fourth time this season, with the Jackets emerging victorious in the most recent contest 68-66 to stun the Chargers in the G-MAC conference tournament last Friday night.

No. 6 seed Cedarville fell just short of a G-MAC conference championship for the second consecutive year on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 76-62 result to No. 1 Walsh.
Branden Maughmer and Kollin Van Horn each scored 12 points in the contest for the Yellow Jackets and Quinton Green chipped in 10. The Jackets’ offense was stagnant in the game and Cedarville was unable to contain the Cavaliers’ offense, which shot nearly 60 percent overall from the field.

The No. 6 seed Cedarville Yellow Jackets pulled off an impressive 68-66 upset to stun No. 2 Hillsdale in a G-MAC semifinal matchup Friday night.
