Hundreds of women from across Ohio stand with bated breath, gazing at a man 50 yards away, illuminated only by portable stadium lights and the waning moon. The buzz of the crowd becomes a murmur, pierced by an occasional shout as anticipation mounts. The whistle blows, then silence. Time freezes, the runners are statues.

Ackley Leads Lady Jackets’ Cross-Country Season

The Cedarville women’s cross-country season is in progress, and with it comes many athletes who have trained hard over an exceptionally long offseason and are excited to show off their progress. Among these athletes is Alayna Ackley.

This season, sophomore runner Daniel Michalski broke the school record in the mile, and he and junior runner Wyatt Hartman have set conference records in the 3,000 meters and the 800 meters, respectively.
