Cedarville Secures Three Division I Exhibitions

Fresh off a 2019 season that ended with a NCCAA Division I National Championship banner, the Cedarville University men’s basketball team will surge into this season with three exhibitions against NCAA Division I programs. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Valparaiso, Ohio State, and Dayton on Oct. 19, Oct. 30 and Nov. 2.

The Lady Jackets had a dominating performance in their Homecoming game Saturday afternoon when they took down the Alderson Broaddus Battlers 5-0. It was a well-rounded performance from the Jackets with four different players getting on the board. Rachel Wiggins, Aleah Martone and Bex Valloney all got on the score board, as well as freshman Mary Kate Wyer who got her first two collegiate goals on Saturday. Cedarville, Ohio Valley Settle for 1-1 Draw

The Cedarville Yellow Jackets battled to a 1-1 draw Thursday night, rallying back from one goal down against the visiting Ohio Valley Fighting Scots. After falling behind 1-0 in the first half, and nearly conceding again before halftime, the Yellow Jackets were able to salvage a point following the conversion of a penalty kick in the second half.

Jackets Volleyball Finishes Invite With Dramatic 3-2 Loss To Greyhounds

Long volleys and scrappy play were the name of the game in Cedarville volleyball’s final game of the 2019 Cedarville University Invite in which they were handed a 3-2 loss to the University of Indianapolis. It was a hard fought battle by both teams with scores of 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 22-25 and 9-15. The Jackets now have a record of 1-2.

Former D-I Volleyball Coach Finds Way to CU

“Never stop learning. Never stop improving.” That’s the motto for new Cedarville women’s volleyball coach Greg Smith.
Smith grew up in Rochester, Indiana, and had to learn volleyball through an unusual route.
He first got into sports through his father, who coached basketball. His first knowledge of volleyball came from watching his high school girls’ team. He went to Westmont College in California to play tennis but had a desire for volleyball.

The Cedarville Yellow Jackets baseball program hasn’t finished over .500 since the 2014 season. However, head coach Mike Manes expects the 2018 team to be one of the most solid he’s coached.

Cedarville Falls in Overtime Against Malone

The Cedarville Yellow Jackets (10-10, 5-8 G-MAC) suffered a gut-wrenching loss to Malone on Tuesday night in overtime, 84-82. The loss drops Cedarville to ninth place in the conference, leaving them out of the G-MAC Conference Tournament at this point.
Four players reached double figures in scoring for Cedarville. Those four combined for an 88 percent share in the Yellow Jackets’ scoring.

Regina Hochstetler scored 26 points and notched 1,000 in her career in a 83-62 win over Malone on Tuesday evening. The junior helped lead the Cedarville Lady Jackets (17-3, 12-2 G-MAC) to a wire-to-wire victory.
