Lady Jackets Sweep Indiana East In Non-Conference Play

The Cedarville volleyball team was back in action Nov. 5, sweeping Indiana University East in a non-conference matchup.

Indiana East came into the evening with a record of 23-12, touting a squad of nine freshmen and one sophomore. The Jackets returned home after winning two conference matchups in West Virginia over the weekend.

The Jackets fell behind 10-6 early in the first set, but after a timeout by head coach Doug Walters, the Jackets rattled off nine straight points and wouldn’t look back, winning the set 25-20.The Red Wolves fought hard in the second set, leading most of the way.

But the Jackets fought back once again behind the attack of Amanda Bell, who had six kills in the set and 11 total on the night. The Jackets took the second set by a score of 25-19 and went on to dominate the final set, winning 25-12 and sweeping the three sets.

The Jackets have now won 15 of their last 17 games and are 18-13 overall (11-1 G-MAC). They will host three conference games to finish the regular season. The Jackets are looking to win the G-MAC regular season title while hosting the conference tournament Nov. 21-23.
