This year, Resonance has two bands: Resonance Blue and Resonance Gold. Resonance’s two bands are volunteer based and run as a part of the worship department. The bands essentially complement ...

Movie Review: ‘Big Hero 6’
“Big Hero 6” is the latest movie released by the Disney franchise. It’s loosely based off the Marvel comics of the same name and doesn’t disappoint – it’s filled with action and adventure, while still making the audience laugh and feel for the characters.
Meet Hiro Hamada (Ryan Potter). Hiro’s a seemingly normal kid living in San Fransokyo (basically a mashup of San Francisco and Tokyo) who has a penchant for robotics. He and his older brother Tadashi (Daniel Henney) live with ...

Thursday Night Live: A Welcome Interruption
Weekly Thursday Night Live (TNL) events provide opportunities for students to relax and listen or to be involved, promote themselves and perform.

Since 2004, musical events called Acoustic Fires were held a few times a semester in the Hive, but Burns said they were very random. So in 2007, right after he assumed his current position, he and the other members of SCAB ...

Student Spotlight – Simon Yeh: Jazz Musician
The last Homecoming firework fizzles out and the clapping quiets. Inside the BTS, spectators shift their attention to the CU Jazz Band, which clusters to the left of the front door. There’s a count-off — “a-one, a-two, a-one, two, three, four” — and then good jazz happens.
Just as the first song starts sizzling, Simon Yeh, the student director and lead saxophonist, stands up, waits a beat, and solos like a pro.
“On clarinet, Simon’s as good as any major. On saxophone, ...
Just Sayin’: Don’t Lose the Plot
The two-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy making landfall in the Mid-Atlantic region was last month. The storm would end up costing the United States around $65 billion, second only to Hurricane Katrina.
It had been almost a full month since Hurricane Sandy came ashore when my family joined a group from my church in Pennsylvania on a day trip to help with the relief efforts.
The first thing I noticed was the garbage hanging six feet above the ground in the trees. The worst of it had ...
