Resound Radio Dedicates New Studio

VIDEO: On Nov. 17, Cedarville President Dr. Thomas White and Loren Reno, the vice president for academics, joined broadcasting and digital media faculty, Department of Communication chair Derrick Green and students on the Resound staff for a dedication of the new studio that was installed this past summer. Green and Dr. White joined David Long and Amy Radwanski on the live afternoon show Amp Up.

Meet Jennifer Taggart, Cedars’ new editor-in-chief

Jennifer Taggart is a senior journalism major from northern Ohio. She first came to Cedarville as a high school student for a summer journalism camp. The past three years, she has worked as a reporter and section editor for Cedars. Watch this video for her personal story. It was produced near the end of last school year by freshman journalism student Keegan D'Alfonso, who is serving as the off-campus news editor this year.

Cedars Wins 8 SPJ Regional Awards

Cedars staff members combined to win eight awards for their work during 2014 in the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence regional competition. The awards were presented Saturday at the regional conference at Ohio University. Photographer Jillian Philyaw placed first in two categories, feature photography and general news photography. Cedars Top Non-Daily Student Paper in Ohio 3rd Straight Year

Cedars won the general excellence award for the third straight year as the best college newspaper in Division B in the Ohio Newspaper Association annual newspaper and website contest. Cedars won awards in eight categories to accumulate enough points to win the Frank E. Deaner Award for Excellence in Collegiate Journalism.
