Dr. Murdoch: Half a Century of Service
For some at Cedarville, it’s hard to imagine staying at the university for seven years to complete the Doctor of Pharmacy program. But Murray Murdoch, senior professor of history, has dedicated 50 years of his life to teaching and serving students at Cedarville.
Murdoch said his family has supported him and encouraged him throughout his lengthy career.
He and his wife Ruth have enjoyed 57 years of marriage and have two sons, Jim and Mark, who attended Cedarville. The couple also has ...
Running as Mission

Carly Gregory, a senior athletic training major and president of ATSO, said the primary goal of Friday's event is to raise money to supply sling bags for an athletic trainer in the Middle East.
“In a typical sling bag you’d have tape and scissors, and just your general first aid supplies,” Gregory said.

Resound’s New Bounds
The world of radio broadcasting develops as technology develops, and Resound Radio – Cedarville University’s student-run radio station – is no different.
Resound Radio started in the ’90s as an AM station that later became a low-powered FM station. To keep up with the times, Resound exchanged its broadcast signal for online streaming capability. The station can now be heard at ResoundRadio.com.
Resound launched a new website and mobile application Aug. 14 said James Leightenheimer, ...
Same Game, New Court
Christina McQueen enters the Hive, the fast-food style cafe on campus. The day has taken a toll on her body but not her spirit. After a few minutes of conversation, her genuine character and friendly personality start to shine.
Fresh out of basketball practice, she comes across as gregarious and warm-hearted, towering over the student employee who hands over a burger and fries.

Cedarville Makes Changes to Campus, Names Faculty to New Positions
So long, Cedar Spray.
You no longer have to fear the deadly – or seemingly deadly – Cedar Spray. Grounds crews moved one of the two fountains this summer further into the lake and further from the usual course of the wind’s blow. This means you can look nice for that job interview or presentation and not bring the smell of Cedar Lake with you. Hooray!
Bye-bye dorm vacuums.
If you’re prone to eating crackers in bed, leaving a trail of crumbs or bringing mud in on your shoes, you ...
Cedarville Student Wins Big with Tech
Whether it’s submitting a homework assignment on Moodle or using CedarPrint to print out an essay, technology is a part of college life at Cedarville. But winning contests doesn't usually come with the deal.
However, for junior Tim Huizinga, an IT management major, submitting his creative use for technology to Best Buy’s #BESTCOLLEGE Challenge left him a winner.
“The #BESTCOLLEGE Challenge Contest was created to help students head back-to-school by asking other students to share ...
An Unexpected Welcome
Clearwater Christian College’s closing in June left Clearwater students with a gap that Cedarville University is working to fill.
“The closing caught everybody off guard,” said Karisa Linafelter, Cedarville’s associate registrar for academic advising and transfer services. "(Clearwater) students left campus (at the end of the semester) having absolutely no clue that this was going to happen."
Clearwater announced the closing June 5, 2015, leaving Clearwater students with an ...

To Build, to Bike, to Bond
Crafting bikes by hand is one way professor Jay Kinsinger worships.
“When I create wooden bicycles I feel (God’s) pleasure,” Kinsinger said. “It’s a form of worship for me.”
Kinsinger, who has taught mechanical and biomedical engineering at Cedarville for 16 years, said the first wooden bike he builttook him more than 400 hours to complete. Fortunately, he said, since he’s had quite a bit of practice at this point, he’s gotten the time down to about 100 hours. Kinsinger ...
