Looking Back at Warmer Days 

As the lake starts to freeze over and the trees lose their leaves, we remember the start of the semester and the warmer days. Back when the birds hadn't flown south yet and the lake was still warm enough to have the engineers build canoe boats and paddle across it. As Cedarville gets ready for Christmas, students are looking towards the end of the semester and the anticipation of Christmas. Each year, it is customary that Cedarville lights a gigantic Christmas tree to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the light he brought into this world. The Cedarville men’s basketball team lost their second leg of the Don Callan Classic 80-70 to Purdue Northwest. Both the Jackets and the Lions finished the Don Classic 1-1, and Cedarville moved to an even 3-3 on the year. Sophomore guard Ethan Sellars scored a career high 23 points on 7/12 shooting in the loss, and point guard Chris Rogers tallied 17. The Cedarville men’s basketball team bested Southwest Baptist 85-64 via a second half scoring frenzy in front of a packed crowd for the home opener. The teams entered the locker room tied at halftime 33-33, but Cedarville won the second half 52-31. Senior Jayvon Maughmer led the way for the Yellow Jackets scoring 22 points on 8/10 shooting, and snagging eight rebounds.
