Fall break is the first real break of the school year and often the first chance for students to go home since they arrived in August. But for some students, the long weekend is too short to go home, or even to leave campus. Cedarville Hosts Religious Freedom Summit
Cedarville is hosting The Religious Freedom Summit in partnership with the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview on October 9 and 10.
Dr. Thomas White, president of Cedarville University, said he hopes attendees will be motivated to “take up the banner of defending religious freedom… not only in America but all across the world.” He said Christians are called upon to engage culture and need to do so articulately with compassion and truth.

Cedarville’s Religious Freedom Summit continued its discussion of religious freedom and the public square in Thursday’s 11 a.m. session in the Jeremiah Chapel.

Next week is Spirit Week 2014, and Cedarville University is going all out to create a fun-filled and exciting week for students and alumni. One of the many events taking place is the line-dancing event.

DTR Creates Uplifting Comedy
Cedarville students will have the opportunity to enjoy a free show this weekend, put on by student org DTR, that is guaranteed to make them laugh. The show will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 the Recital Hall from 6:30-9 p.m.
“We want to light up an environment,” Johnathan Coraccio, DTR’s vice president said. “We want our shows to be uplifting.”

‘Bending the Strings’: Bluegrass and Broadcasting
Daniel Mullins has lived in Cedarville since the sixth grade. He works part time and attends the university part time. In May, he will graduate with a degree in American studies, and he will be the last student from Cedarville to do so.
The American studies program is being phased out once Mullins leaves. Kevin Sims, chair of the faculty for the liberal arts program and Mullins’ academic advisor, said there is a reason for that.
