One Bistro: Making a space for neighbors to eat
By Avonlea Brown
Outside, cars whoosh by and people bustle back and forth in front of the windows, leaves strewn on the sidewalk. Inside, the sounds of laughter and silverware on plates fill the little cafe. Booths and tables are filled with family, friends and strangers.
In one booth a group of three girls share breakfast, in the next booth a group of old women eat and share conversation. Sitting at the community table in the middle of the room is a family of four with two ...

Dino’s Cappuccinos is a Quirky Spot in Yellow Springs
By Anna Harman
Dino’s Cappuccinos is located in Yellow Springs, Ohio. It’s only about 12 minutes from campus, so it’s a pretty close option if you want to get coffee outside of Cedarville.
The first thing that I noticed about this coffee shop was the minimal, crowded street parking. My friends and I looked for a spot for a long time and had to squeeze in a small spot. It wasn’t the ideal parking situation.
When you walk in, it’s clear that it’s a very small shop. It seemed ...

The devastating impact included more than 1,400 Israelis being killed in the initial attack at the beginning of October, and more than 10,000 Palestinians being killed in Israel’s counterattacks. As Americans watching from the safety of our homes, it is easy to point fingers and assume the blame lies completely on one side. In reality, the complex conflict has a ...

In response, Biden’s campaign promised to give adequate staffing and training to nursing home aides and give long-term caretakers better benefits and pay.
In September, the administration took steps to fulfill those promises. The new regulations require three hours of ...
Stray cat population returns to Cedarville
By Ethan Charles
Cedarville has a reputation for attracting stray cats, and this year things have ramped up yet again.
In April of this year, Cedarville Mayor John Cody Jr. attempted to solve this problem with a controversial ordinance that banned the feeding of stray cats, in hopes of preventing the stray population from growing more than it had already.
The now-tabled ordinances were vague and brought with it harsh backlash from advocacy group Alley Cat Allies for ...
Unveiling Oppression: The Taliban’s War on Women’s Rights in Afghanistan
By Laurence Butt
Imagine for a moment, if you will, there is a politician, a soldier, and a civilian in a bar. I know this sounds like the start of a joke but stay with me for a moment. If you ask them why the US, and by extension NATO, was in Afghanistan, chances are they will give you a completely different answer. A politician would say that it is America’s duty as a powerful country to defeat evil and help create democracy in the region. A soldier would say it is his duty to defeat ...
