By Maggie Fipps “Twelve twelve!” her teammates cheer, encouraging senior pole vaulter Haleigh Eckert as she tries to accomplish a goal six years in the making.  They are well aware that twelve feet twelve inches is thirteen feet, but that’s an unlucky number around here.  “I've been trying to hit the 13 mark for, no joke, 6 years of my life,” Eckert said. “I think it's been sort of a mental thing probably because my personal record before was 12’ 11” and ...

With this target on their back, they fought Tiffin from behind, who was coming off a two-game losing streak and desperate for a win.  Despite the Jackets' best effort in the second half to catch up to the Dragons, they fell 79-75 in a matchup where Tiffin dictated the entire game.  But in the final minutes when the Jackets seemed to ...

Freshman guard Anthony Ruffolo exceeds expectations

By Maggie Fipps “At guard, a 6-foot freshman from Dayton, Ohio, number two, Anthony Ruffolo!” With that introduction, Ruffolo stepped onto the court as the starting point guard for Cedarville University.  In his first offensive possession, turnover. In his second offensive possession, missed shot. Three minutes in, however, Ruffolo found himself in the right place at the right time: underneath the basket to rebound and quickly lay up Ethan Sellars’ missed shot.  ...
