Jackets Fall in Season Opener
Cedarville lost their season opener at home to Truman State Friday night by a score of 82-70.
JC Faubion lead the Jackets with 20 points and five rebounds. Easton Bazzoli added 15 points and six rebounds and Robert Okoro had 13 points and five rebounds.
One of the biggest issues for the Jackets highlighted by Head Coach Pat Estepp was getting production from their bench. The Jacket bench shot a combined 1-16 for two points compared to Truman State’s 20 points from their bench. ...
Cedarville Earns First Win
The Cedarville Yellow Jackets controlled nearly every facet of the game in their 80-68 win over the Maryville Saints on Saturday night. With the win, the Jackets improve to 1-1 to finish the Cedarville-hosted Don Callan Classic.
Cedarville took the lead with 5:29 seconds in the first half, and never looked back from there.

Cedarville Wins 5th Straight
The Jackets matched their season-high with a five-game winning streak, defeating the Wilberforce Bulldogs 94-73 on Saturday night. Junior J.C. Faubion led the way, tying a career-high with 35 points on 75 percent shooting and five assists. Cedarville head coach Pat Estepp said Faubion matched his career high in points because of his off-ball movement.
“He didn’t stop moving,” Estepp said. “He came off screens and was cutting really well. That is a big reason he got those 35.”

The Yellow Jackets were outplayed in nearly every aspect of the game, men's basketball head coach Pat Estepp said, as the team fell to the visiting Alderson-Broaddus Battlers Saturday night, 77-58.
Estepp said the turning point of the game came in the first several minutes of the second half. Cedarville was down, 36-22 at halftime.
“We needed to come out because we were so bad offensively in the first half,” he said. “We had to come out and knock down some shots, make some ...

With 11 minutes to go in the second half, junior guard J.C. Faubion drove in for the and-one layup to cut the lead to 49-42. Although he missed the free throw, on the next possession Faubion came down and hit a three as the Jackets battled ...
Jackets Drop Season Opener
Despite an impressive performance by freshman forward Kwenton Scott, the Yellow Jackets opened up the season with an 88-71 loss to the visiting Lewis University Flyers.
The Jackets got off to a fast start to their first game of the Don Callan Classic. Scott scored eight of the team’s first 12 points, making all four of his shots. They took a 16-10 lead seven minutes into the game. This would be their largest lead, however, as the Flyers went on a 22-8 run to go up, 32-24.

Starting over is hard to do, as Justice Montgomery would tell you.
A transfer athlete from American University, a Division I school, Montgomery has had to adjust to Cedarville this semester as a junior. According to himself, his coaches and his teammates, Montgomery brings not only talent to the men’s basketball team, but an unselfish spirit and a servant’s heart.
Starting over
Montgomery has started over before, but that doesn’t make it any easier for him, he said. When he switched ...
New Zealand, New Zeal
When Cedarville basketball player Lane Vander Hulst found himself on the other side of the world talking to a big crowd, he said he was a bit nervous.
“It was the first time I really had to get up in front of everyone and share the gospel,” he said. “It’s really easy to do in your head, but once you’re looking at all those people looking at you, it’s kind of difficult.”
In the summer of 2013, Vander Hulst and teammate Marcus Reineke, in partnership with Athletes in Action, ...
