The Cedarville men’s and women’s basketball teams each lost their leading scorers less than a week apart in the first week of February.
Patrick Bain, a senior guard who led the team in points per game (21.7), assists per game (3.5), blocks (13), and steals (24), was on pace to win G-MAC Player of the Year. Bain tore his ACL with just over a minute to play in a win over Ohio Valley on Jan. 27.

Regina Hochstetler scored 26 points and notched 1,000 in her career in a 83-62 win over Malone on Tuesday evening. The junior helped lead the Cedarville Lady Jackets (17-3, 12-2 G-MAC) to a wire-to-wire victory.

The Cedarville Lady Jackets (16-3, 11-2 G-MAC) thumped the Ohio Valley University Fighting Scots on Saturday afternoon, 96-64. The Lady Jackets never trailed in the game and kept their lead from the 5:39 mark in the first quarter to the end of the game.

The Cedarville Lady Jackets (14-3, 9-2 G-MAC) earned a huge road victory over the Ursuline Arrows (13-6, 10-3 G-MAC) on Saturday afternoon, 66-63. The win allowed the Lady Jackets to pass Ursuline in the conference standings, as Cedarville now sits at No. 2 in the G-MAC.

Senior guard Kaitlyn Holm sent the Callan Athletic Center into a frenzy with a game-winning shot to lead the Cedarville Lady Jackets (13-3, 8-2 G-MAC) past the Hillsdale Chargers on Monday night, 80-75. Four Lady Jackets reached double digits in scoring and four players grabbed six or more rebounds.

The No. 22 Cedarville Lady Jackets fell in a marathon of a game to the Findlay Oilers on Saturday afternoon, 92-83 in two overtimes. Junior guard Baylee Bennett reached a career high in points with 32 on 8-11 shooting from behind the arc.
