Cedarville’s men’s soccer team fended off Trevecca’s comeback bid, winning the homecoming match 4-2.
The Yellow Jackets opened with a frenzy of goals, netting three in the span of five minuted and six seconds.
Caleb Knight found Matthew Weller’s corner kick to open the scoring. Moments later Alex Long scored a penalty just 42 seconds before Michael Catanzarite scored a third goal.
The Trojans came roaring back in the second half, scoring twice to cut the deficit to one, but Jackson Baker slammed the door shut on the attempted come back, scoring Cedarville’s fourth and final goal in the 74th minute.
The Yellow Jackets improve to 6-2-3 on the year, and 3-1-3 in conference play, good enough for fourth place in the G-MAC.
