Cedars, the student-run newspaper of Cedarville University, full of campus-relevant stories, appears on newsstands once a month during the school year. Students and faculty can pick up an issue from the stand or read them on the Cedars website for free. Getting the issue to the stands, however, is an arduous process that includes many people and several weeks of effort.

Earth Hour is a social movement started in Sydney, Australia, in 2007 with the goal of raising awareness for climate change and protection of the environment. The movement centers around an annual event on March 24 around the globe. Participants turn off their lights for one hour when the clock strikes 8:30 p.m. local time.

Cedars earns three SPJ regional awards; missions report eligible for national award
Several Cedars staff members combined to earn a Mark of Excellence award in the Society of Professional Journalists annual regional competition, announced recently at the Region 4 conference at Point Park University in Pittsburgh.

World Fair Returns to Cedarville

On Friday, March 23, the international student org, MISO, will be relaunching an event called the World Fair after three years of dormancy.
The event will be three hours long and will be hosted in the Center for Biblical and Theological Students. There will be live music, cultural dance, arts and crafts and foods. Cedarville Gains New Industrial Design Org

Starting this semester, students can join a new student org on Cedarville’s campus for industrial design majors.
Rebecca Murch, sophomore industrial design major and secretary of the Org, said that during her first semester she really didn’t know many in her major. Cedars wins top awards in Ohio News Media Association collegiate newspaper contest
COLUMBUS – Cedars won its sixth straight Frank E. Deaner Award as the best small-college newspaper in Ohio at the recent Ohio News Media Association Convention.
Cedars placed first in seven of the 10 categories in Division B for schools with enrollment under 10,000. Eight schools entered the competition.
