Volleyball Falls 3-1 at Home to Ashland
by Grace Mowery
The Cedarville Lady Jackets came into the Friday night home game against Ashland University off a sweep over Kentucky Wesleyan last weekend and were looking to continue their strong showing against the division-leading Eagles and add to their 3-1 record at home. The Jackets are now 9-12 on the season and 6-8 in the G-MAC. The postseason is looking less certain for Cedarville after the loss.
However, the Eagles' relentless offensive pressure overcame Cedarville’s defense ...
Deardorff Finds Joy as the New Resident Director at Cedarville University
by Tim Comstock
The fall semester of 2021, Jason Deardorff became McChesney and St. Clair’s newest Resident Director at Cedarville University.
Deardorff graduated from a small university called Word of Life Bible Institute in Spring Lake, New York. “I actually felt the Lord leading me there and spent two years there,” said Deardorff. After he graduated, he spent a few years working third-shift in a factory. “I knew the Lord had called me to ministry shortly after I’d become a ...
‘Black Widow’ Completes Her Arc in Long Overdue Solo Film
By Noah Tang
Like many other Marvel fans, I eagerly awaited the release of “Black Widow,” faithfully waiting through the pandemic-related delays. This solo film for the MCU’s first female Avenger was long overdue, having been desired by fans ever since her first appearance in “Iron Man 2” all the way back in 2010. In-universe, “Black Widow” takes place after most of the events of “Captain America: Civil War” and before “Avengers: Infinity War.”
The movie opens in 1995, ...
Bond Goes Out With a Bang
By Owen Nolt
It seems as if the first initial trailer for “No Time to Die” came out years ago, and that’s because it did. The final outing for Daniel Craig’s James Bond was one of the first films to be delayed back in March of 2020 when the COVID-19 lockdowns began. After being pushed back three times from its initial release date in November 2019, the film finally premiered October 8, 2021. In the midst of all these delays and pushbacks, I wondered whether the film would live up to ...
Cedarville Men’s Basketball Drops Exhibition Opener Against Dayton
by Josh Decker
The Cedarville Yellow Jackets fell 94-60 against Division I University of Dayton Monday night in an exhibition game where the Jackets’ outside shots just didn’t seem to find the net.
The exhibition game, played at University of Dayton Arena, gave Cedarville an excellent opportunity to prepare for the upcoming regular season schedule by going up against high-end talent and athleticism. It was also the first full-capacity for Dayton in 603 days, which drew a crowd of over ...

by Josh Decker
In a game of high stakes and G-MAC tournament implications, the Cedarville Lady Jackets secured a 1-0 victory over visiting Ohio Dominican on Tuesday night. Cedarville finishes the regular season with an 11-4-2 record, including a dominant 11-2-1 conference record.
With the win, the Lady Jackets jumped Findlay in the G-MAC regular season standings to finish in second place, earning a first-round bye in the upcoming tournament.
“Tonight’s win was a big one for us,’ ...
Lawlor Hall’s Unusual Events Bring Its Residents Together
by Jewell Strock
LawlaPalooza is an event where the units in Lawlor play a bunch of random games in the parking lot, and then, to win, pull a truck down the middle of dorm row. While this event may seem silly, even pointless, LawlorPalooza kicks off the semester with a fun way to introduce Lawlor Hall to the new residents of Cedarville University. And it breaks the ice for the guys residing in Lawlor.
LawlorPalooza is one of the multiple events that showcase the strong community in Lawlor ...
Yellow Jackets Close Regular Season With 3-1 Victory Over Walsh
by Alan Brads
The Cedarville Yellow Jackets clinched a first-round bye in the G-MAC tournament Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over Walsh. Cedarville finished the season with a 10-3-1 record in the conference, good enough for second place only behind the Lake Erie Storm.
After Ohio Dominion lost to Tiffin, both Cedarville and Walsh knew that a win would give either team the second seed and first-round bye in the conference tournament. The stakes had not been higher all season.

‘Muppets: Haunted Mansion’ Is A Fun Halloween Watch
By Janie Walenda
The Muppets are back, or at least they are trying to be. There have been several attempts to relaunch the Muppet franchise, with varying degrees of success. So far, the movies “Muppets” and “Muppets: Most Wanted” have been the most successful, with the recent Disney Plus series “Muppets Now” receiving a lukewarm reception. On paper, “Muppets: Haunted Mansion” is a perfect fusion of Disney properties. For the most part, the newest Muppet holiday special ...
‘Dune’ Could Be the Next Great Epic
By Sam Acosta
Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of the classic sci-fi epic “Dune” has been one of the most anticipated movies of the last decade. After the failure of the 1984 adaptation, many wondered whether Villeneuve would be able to redeem the story and create a movie adaptation with the same level of success as the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. While he does create a beautiful piece of cinema and world-building, it is yet to be seen if this film will find the same level of success...
