Movie Review: ‘Diana’
Many remember growing up in the ’90s and hearing about the tragic death of Princess Diana, a sudden death that shocked the world. Hollywood made a film about the final years of Diana’s life, released on DVD Feb.11. But did “Diana” stick to the facts or was the biopic fictionalized for dramatic effect?
Diana (Naomi Watts) has been thrown into the spotlight following her separation from Prince Charles. While Diana struggles to live a normal life, she visits a hospital where she meets a ...

Unique STP Highlights French Fashion
Joy McTaggart’s senior theatre project (STP) will differ from the typical play done by senior theatre majors. Since McTaggart enjoys the costuming part of theatre, she chose to make that the focus of her STP.
“I’m really excited to work on an STP that is specifically tailored to what I want to do when I graduate,” McTaggart said. “Instead of directing a show, I get to build a dress, which is something I really love doing.”
McTaggart’s inspiration for the dress came from a ...
Style Blog Not Just About Clothes
It took six Cedarville students just one weekend last November to launch a style blog that’s now attracted readers from several states.
Cedarville students Beth Julca and Jennifer Langton had the idea to highlight people with interesting style around campus in some sort of online media. Langton, a junior, said she and Julca, who graduated in December, shared their idea with four other students. And when the weekend was over, the group of six had created and published “The Village.”

Jay Migrino: Graffiti Artist
Jay Migrino distinctly remembers a pivotal point in his self-concept when he was reading his copy of Leland Ryken’s “The Christian Imagination” for his composition class in the BTS. His professor, Isaac Mayeux, used the course to emphasize Christianity’s alignment with the arts, and when Ryken’s words about excellence leapt off the page, it changed Migrino’s entire perspective on how to “do” art.
“I didn’t know how to integrate my faith with my art,” Migrino said. “I ...

Joy McTaggart: American in Paris
Senior Joy McTaggart summed up her study abroad experience in one word – independence. McTaggart, a theatre major studying performance and design, spent her fall semester in Paris.
In October 2012, McTaggart decided to study abroad. She chose France because she wanted to learn to speak French, and Paris offered the requirements she needed to graduate.
“Cedarville really pushes it (studying abroad) when you are a freshman,” McTaggart said, “I was really tentative freshman year, but ...
Review: Switchfoot’s ‘Fading West’
In the grand scheme of the music industry, no matter what the genre, most artists are mere flashes in the pan, coming and going without making a significant impact on their field. But the exceptions are the ones worth celebrating, and Switchfoot more than fits this description. Coming up on 18 years as a band, the Foreman brothers and their friends chose to commemorate their story with “Fading West,” a documentary and accompanying soundtrack that only a seasoned band like Switchfoot could ...
Movie Review: ‘Haevnen’
“Haevnen,” Cedarville’s recent Foreign Film Series offering, covers the complexity of human emotions, pain and empathy by showing the conflicts that lead the characters to a difficult choice between revenge and forgiveness.

Review: ‘Sherlock’
If you are at all familiar with the character of Sherlock Holmes, you are probably aware of the lack of social skills the character seems to have. He is completely unaware of how to properly act in society and confused by the way other people interact. On many occasions, he has outbursts that others deem inappropriate, but that he feels are completely normal.
When we first met BBC’s version of the great Sherlock Holmes in “Sherlock,” he was the definition of “a high-functioning ...
